The first day I saw this line of tiny porcelain cat figurines I fell in love with them. There’s a certain charm in their poses and expressions that will capture you. And being so tiny, they are easy and fun to collect or to give as gifts. Let me tell you about these little darlings…
These miniatures are manufactured in Chiang Mai, Thailand, known as “Rose of the North” and a major center for fine porcelain.

The figurines are hand-painted by talented artists in the Thailand factory.
Every piece is high-fired and the rigorous quality control of the company guarantees the colors, the perfect shape and the sharpness of every detail. There is much experience and skill needed to produce the details of these fine figurines.

Playful Calico Miniature Porcelain Cat
The factory produces all kinds of animals but of course my focus is on the delightful cats and kittens. Some are in typical cat poses and some are joined with books or musical instruments. Their sizes range from 1 1/2 inches to 2 1/2 inches tall.

Although these are called miniatures, some go even smaller! Named “Little Critters” these minis are about 1 to 1 1/2 inches and still have all the delicate details of the larger minis.

If you like these figurines please visit my website www.georgiasgifts.com and see all the different mini cats. I’m also on the search for more styles and I’m checking into other companies manufacturing porcelain figures in Thailand as some of the finest work is done there. I’d love to hear your comments on these cats!

Are there not any companies in the US that makes these type of figurines? They are really beautiful and very detailed.
Check out Hagen Renaker – they make mini ceramic animals in California
Yes, I will check them out! I love the minis.
Thanks, I’m glad you like them. (Their dogs are pretty awesome also). I am looking in the US also and hope to find the same quality as from the Thailand factories.
As an animal fan, I dislike to admit that I like new puppies merely a little more than kittens. They’re just so cute and affectionate. I’m a cat fan, however puppies just handle to be more interesting. If they just weren’t so much trouble I would certainly adopt a puppy right now.
